Rates and Utilization are inversly proprtional to each other in many circumstances. By shifting the dates of your rental you may be able to sale significantly on the rental fees.
The charts to the left are designed to show two things in an effort to
assist you in making your RV rental decisions.
First, the top chart shows Daily
Rental Rates of our Standard size motorhome as currently priced for
2009. Note that these rates are subject to change, and generally go up
as we approach the actual date. This is one reason that it is best to
reserve early on to take advantage of the current rates. The
daily/nightly rental rates of motorhomes and campers is highly
dependent on the
actual dates of your intended trip. The top chart starts out on March
2, 2009 and ends
with those rates on December 28, 2009. Notice how these rates creep up
then ultimately spike up into the peak summer periods. By changing the
dates of your rental you can have a dramatic effect on your actual
rental costs by taking advantage of rental rate variables throughout
Secondly, the lower chart shows weekly utilization of (in this case)
motorhomes for the same period. Notice that generally speaking we are
at maximum utilization ("sold-out") for times when the rental rates are
at their highest.
The data uses 2009 rates against 2008 actual
availability so the comparisons are not perfect but for illustrative
purposes should make the points outlined above. Also, remember that
gas prices last year were double and more of what they are now. The
rates for our other rental products in much the same (but not always
exactly the same) way as do the rates of the Standard motorhome in the
Many prospective renters believe that we
are always sold-out on holidays. This is often not the case, however,
campgrounds are more difficult to reserve for holidays. Don't let this
deter you - there is almost always room available at private
In this economy it makes sense to save some money on
your vacation. Unless you have to, try and make your plans for when
the rates are not at their peak. Savings of at least $100 per night are
available as long as you can work your plans around the peak rental
